Key Stage 2 Tests
Revision Packs
Can you please encourage your children to continue to complete their revision packs in addition to their weekly homework. We have half-termly celebrations for those who are completing the additional learning at home.
We would like to thank you for all your continued support and encouragement regarding these revision packs. We have been amazed by the dedication the children are showing toward their learning.
When are the SATs?
The Year 6 SATs take place from Monday 9th May to Thursday 12th May 2022. We would encourage children to arrive at school promptly so that we can make sure the children are calm and settled ready for the tests to begin. We will also be supplying free breakfasts for all Y6 children during SATs week.
The timetable for the week is as follows:
- Monday 9th May 2022
- EGPS Paper 1 & Paper 2(English Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling)
- Tuesday 10th May 2022
- English Reading
- Wednesday 11th May 2022
- Maths Papers 1 (arithmetic) & 2 (reasoning)
- Thursday 12th May 2022
- Maths Paper 3 (reasoning)
Children in Year 6 are assessed on their knowledge and understanding of the curriculum. The curriculum introduced in 2014 provides greater challenge with higher expectations set at the end of KS2. The results of the SATs (tests) are reported using a scaled score, where a score of 100 represents the expected standard. The highest possible score is 120 and the lowest is 80.
Children are awarded one of the following Teacher Assessment Judgements in Writing:
Expected Standard – working at the expected standard for their age
Greater Depth – working at greater depth within the expected standard and has a strong understanding of the curriculum
Children achieving a scaled score of 110 or more are classed as achieving a high standard and are working at greater depth.

Easter Club
More details regarding dates and times for these sessions will follow.
During the first week of the Easter holidays, we will be opening school for a number of days and would like to invite Y6 children to attend an Easter Club. The club will open at 8:30am and finish at 12:00pm. Children will be provided with a free breakfast and will also be allowed to walk to and from school independently.
Revision Club
Please remember that our revision sessions take place on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday after school. Again, we celebrate attendance of these sessions half-termly. These sessions are essential in supporting your child’s academic achievements.
Parents Meeting
We will be holding a SATs information meeting on Thursday 13th January 2022 at 4pm via Zoom. We hope to see as many of you there as possible. If parents/carers are unable to attend this meeting then we will be holding another SATs information in Spring Term 2. You can also watch the KS2 SATs Presentation for Parents which is linked at the top of this page.
