Uniform

We encourage our children to take pride in everything they do, including their appearance which is why we have a school uniform. We ask parents and carers to support us in implementing this dress code.

Our uniform comprises of:

For safety reasons we ask that children wear sensible Black shoes or trainers, not flip flops or shoes with a high heel. Please ensure that all items of clothing, including coats and shoes, are labelled with your child’s name.

At East Dene, we always want to listen and respond to feedback from our families. Many of you have shared that PE days have been a source of anxiety for some children due to needing to get changed at school. We really value this feedback, and as a result, we are going to make some changes.

From EYFS through to Year 5, children will now be able to come to school in their PE kit on their PE day. This should consist of:

For Year 6, we will continue with the current system of pupils wearing their school uniform and changing for PE. This is to help prepare them for Secondary School, where they will be expected to follow the same routines.

If your child has long hair, please ensure that they have a bobble to tie it back.

On swimming days children require a costume and a towel. All hair should be enclosed in a swimming hat. (This can be purchase from the baths)

Items of uniform with the school logo on them can be purchased through local suppliers including:

You can also purchase non branded items of school uniform from local high street shops or supermarkets.

If you are struggling to provide your child with the appropriate school uniform please contact the main school office on 01709 512202 and we will do our best to help you.

Please note that we have a policy that items of jewellery are not worn or to be brought to school, due to reasons of safety and security. A child who has pierced ears may wear one pair of studded earrings only, and children may wear wristwatches, but school cannot accept responsibility should they be lost. All jewellery, including stud earrings, must be removed before PE, swimming and any other sports or games activities.
