Star of the Week

At East Dene Primary School our ethos is to celebrate a child’s success, whether big or small. Part of this, is a weekly celebration assembly held on a Friday. Teachers will choose a pupil from their class who has achieved something special during that week. This may be linked to learning, progress, attainment or behaviour, helpfulness or good manners!  Chosen children receive a Star of the Week certificate and a photograph is displayed to celebrate success.

Kindness Award

At East Dene Primary we actively promote being kind to one another. Once we see an act of kindness, teachers record this and then select one child to receive The Kindness  Award each week.

House Points Award

Our House Points system recognises Pupils who exemplify our core values such as respect, responsibility, kindness,. Pupils earn points for their house by demonstrating these values in their daily actions and interactions. This friendly competition develops a sense of community and encourages positive behaviour throughout the school.

Writer of the Week

Each week, we celebrate outstanding writing from across the school. The Writer of the Week award acknowledges pupils who have shown exceptional creativity, effort, or improvement in their written work, inspiring others to express themselves through the power of words.
